I’ve stumbled upon a very interesting blog written by a south-Indian gal named Sowmya. She’s a very expressive writer, and I find her posts and articles not only entertaining but very thought-provoking. Do check it out…

I happened to discover a really nice weekly podcast by Ben Collins the other day and wanted to give it a little plug. If you’re looking to learn more about Hindu mythology and the Vedic tradition, you should definitely give Ben’s podcast a listen. Ben does an excellent job telling the stories from Hinduism and juxtaposing the stories with appropriate Sanskrit shlokas. I particularly enjoyed Ben’s lecture on the anatomy of a puja. I’ve participated in many a puja but never really known the full significance of the steps involved.
You can subscribe to Ben’s podcast via iTunes. Highly recommended.

…well, there’s no point in thinking too much about it – sure, life’s going to change in ways I can’t possibly imagine – but I’ll always be able to rock out in my mind.

Okay, so Aarti really didn’t like the last panel on the double-sized spread a few weeks back. I think I’m gonna revise it.Â

I finally installed Leopard on my Macbook Pro (2.16GHz model). This time, instead of erasing my hard drive, I used the “archive and install” method. I’m pleased to report that everything went flawlessly. No hiccups, no weirdness – nada. Everything just worked.
Leopard’s given the MBP a swift kick in the pants – the machine runs like a true champ now. I’ve customized Spaces (virtual desktops) the way I like it. I verified that my key academic apps work – most importantly, my grading software – and all apps I tested ran well.
Overall, I’m pleasantly surprised with the ease of the entire OS upgrade process.

According to Wikipedia, the word “Rishi” denotes a singer of sacred hymns, an inspired poet or sage, or any person who alone or with others invokes the deities in rhythmical speech or song of a sacred character.
You can read more about several specific Hindu sages on the Wiki as well.
