There’s a nice write-up by Boomer Cardinale on the impact of webcomics in 2008. Cardinale’s thesis is that the aspiring cartoonist should turn to the web instead of seeking syndication, and that the media is increasingly looking at the webcomic landscape for properties. It’s well-written, thought-provoking and includes citations to back his claims.

Webcomics are the future of the comic strips, whether syndicates accept them or not.
