I’ve added a “First Comic” link to the top of the page to make it easier for new readers to go to the beginning of the comic. Enjoy!

Aartis are performed whenever there is a significant life event in a person’s life, whether he or she is embarking or returning from a long journey, entering a new home for the first time, getting married, or having a child. It is also performed before an important task – to ward off evil as well as incur blessings.
Devotional songs, or bhajans, are always concluded by singing the aarti.
And apparently, the evil eye is quite common in other cultures / religions.
Regarding the comic production itself, I think I’m going to revert back to black-and-white. Coloring takes up a great deal of extra time – and with the last few installments, I haven’t had as much time to do it right.
Besides, I think the black-n-white look is really beginning to grow on me.

…from the hospital was possibly the slowest I’ve ever driven in my life. But making sure the precious cargo arrived safe and sound was entirely worth it.

Okay, my complaints are minor.
Really minor.
At least when compared to what Aarti had to go through. But my complaints still stand.

Rather than go into more of the minutae of what happened in the hospital, I wanted to conclude the story of Sonia’s birth to move onto something more interesting – her arrival home. Hope you have been enjoying the story so far.
