Take Out
I can now sympathize with the folks who bring their babies to restaurants and other public places. I’ve experienced first-hand what I’ve witnessed countless times before with other peoples’ kids.

For our 5th anniversary we packed the boys in the car and went to McDonalds. Pretty sad huh? Neither of us felt like cooking that night

On our 6th Anniversay my sister babysitted all three of them and we went out, only to return after 1.5 hour, because we both where to tired to go on
But it is getting better, believe me.

On the same note as i’ve raised my son alone since he was a little over a 1 year old, perspectives change for everything. I went to friends houses and was stressed about every nook and cranny of trash and stuff around their house worried about my son getting close to it. .. my friends never “got it” until they had kids of their own.

A sitter would be nice. Unfortunately, we’re really picky with who takes care of our daughter. The only people my wife and I trust are our parents. There’s just too many crazy people out there, y’know?

I hear what ya say about baby sitters. My brother usually gets my parents to sit for his kids. My best friend usually gets me

I like the strip. The same applies to planes. I fly a lot. Before I had a child, I was the frowning guy who muttered about the screaming babies. Now I am the dad who misses his own, so plays peek-a-boo with any/all babies on the plane. And, after years of hearing my own scream, I literally can’t hear (or simply don’t notice) the babies screaming on the plane any more.
But…
1) Please keep your kid from kicking the seat in front of him/her and from banging on the tray table. Yes, difficult… believe me I know… but figure out a way to keep the kid occupied.
2) Keep your babies out of business class. The kid does not need the space and most of the people in business class are business people: they need the time to sleep or work and paid (well, their company paid) a lot for them to be able to. I once had a snap trip to Europe: land and go to the client immediately. I NEEDED to sleep on that plane, just a little. You can guess the rest. I love my child, but he’s not flying business class until he pays for it himself!

Oh I’ve seen a lot of “those couples”… but at least you notice the crying. Many of “those couples” are so immune to their own offspring’s bawlings that they believe no one else can hear it too… So they just ignore it…. and carry on eating.. all the while the fruit of their loins is busy spitting on me and trying to grab my food as I eat it….
I’m just saying it could happen…..
