I recorded a show with host Jerzy Drozd on today’s Art & Story Extreme.
You can listen to the episode here. We talk about my experiences at MiniMegacon, dealing with how spoiled Krishna gets on his birthday, and my “American” name.
Hi its me, whitebread bollywood lover from megacon. Aartis versions of events Ill file under comic exaggeration. I did not believe people in india would dress and act like they do in bollywood movies! Im actually very flattered that she mentioned me, thats the first time ive ever been mentioned in a podcast!
Aarti – Cool you’re blogging too! Enjoyed the episode immensely. It’s always cool to get another perspective on stuff like cons and such, especially from a more or less outsider. It gets strangely normal seeing the crowds all dressed up in funky costumes, to the point where it wouldn’t surprise me to see it in everyday life.
Stephen – Exaggeration is the spice of life. Sometimes it’s hard to know judge exactly where someone if coming from at these cons (at least when you’re behind the table.) At my second convention as a seller/guest I had a talk with a nice gal/guy (couldn’t gauge by voice or appearance and neither could my wife) who seemed so excited about Robotech that I thought they had a veritech robot parked outside. Just the way it goes meeting new people in that environment. Glad to see you come by the site though, Krishna needs more eyes on this comic…
I was kinda hoping to meet some girls who looked like bollywood girls
Then I realized, Im 6’4 all those bollywood girls are like midgets to me
Ok, Not really but compare the height of actresses in hollywood to those in bollywood. Deepika Padukone is 5’9.5″ and shes one of the tallest actress in bollywood and actresses are taller than the normal population. A number of indian people in india made humorous remarks about my height “big man” and tried to compare their heights to mine.
One of my favorite bollywood actresses Rani Mukerji is only 5’3. Not many actresses outside of india are that petite, even ziyi zhang is 5’5
