Ever been to your country of descent? North Indians have trouble pronouncing South Indian names and vice-versa! So I guess it is universal!
Hey! At least you have a short first and last name that doesn’t include your place of birth, town, community, zodiac and other details that either make up a long list of initials or a large salad if used in full! Have you heard of the long, long South Indian names? But growing up north of the Niagra, I don’t suppose that you have!
Thanks for the feedback – I still have the original toons, and they will definitely resurface at some point when it comes time to compile all the comics into book format. I’ve been to India 4 times in my life – the most recent trip was made in 2004 to spend some time with my wife’s family in Mumbai. I had a total blast.
I’ve definitely heard of the long South Indian name syndrome. Somehow I escaped that fate, but compared to most American names, Sadasivam is still considered long…
