Yesterday we celebrated Sonia’s 3rd birthday with a pizza party at one of our local parks. The weather was great, and we had a lot of friends and family attend. My sis and brother-in-law flew from across the continent to be with us to mark the occasion.
Think of this as “UNcubed” live action.

My awesome bro-in-law Rajiv sent along a photo of “UNcubed” – as it appears in the latest issue of “India Currents” magazine – published in California!

Sorry for the lack of posts here – but I wanted to let you know I’m still alive. I ALSO wanted to let readers in California know that the latest issue of India Currents magazine (print edition) features 2 UNcubed comics. This marks the first time my auto-bio strip has been published in a magazine. If you want India Currents to carry more UNcubed comics, please write the editor and tell ‘em you want to see more!
Thanks!!
More comics to come – and watch this space for some quick sketches and stuff.

P.S. Guess which mode I’m in?
I haven’t forgotten about UNcubed.
Here are some new designs I’m exploring (these were sketched using Autodesk Sketchbook Pro).

A very interesting and enlightening speech on the genesis of ideas, interruptions, the flow of thought, and much more as explained by comic actor John Cleese.

I’ve decided to put UNcubed on hiatus until late October. I hate to be lame, but I really am enjoying the down time. 4 strips a week (3 PC Weenies toons, and one UNcubed) was taking a lot of time out of my already slammed schedule. I have an animated project I’m working on right now, that I really want to complete. Plus some convention (and wedding) related travel in the weeks ahead.
It’s selfish, I know, but I have a ton on my plate and I think the time I have to decompress a little will help recharge my batteries. Check in between now and then – there may be a few surprises in case I get the itch to draw something for old times sake.

So I’m using the downtime to rethink the character designs for my strip. My first goal is to refine the heads of my main characters. My goal is to make the character’s look very consistent. You can see my character design exploration up above. The items circled in red are ones that I like and plan to refine further.
