True story.
A day after I landed in Mumbai, I had a charlie horse, or a muscle spasm in my leg. It was swollen and unbearably difficult for me to walk. Who is the “bone setter”? Stay ‘tooned…

I hope the “bone setter” was the doctor down the street from my apartment! A total quack. No matter what ailment you go to him with, he always gives a shot, and gets upset if you dare to ask what it is, followed by four different pills to take twice a day for two days, that he dispenses himself in a little plastic bag. And asking what they are results in his snapping “you don’t need to know, just take them!”.
The last time I went to him, when my regular doctor was in Goa for a long weekend, and I was really, really feverish and desperate, after giving me the shot, before it took effect and I was still sick, dazed, confused and hallucinating, he started grilling me on university graduate programs in the U.S. for his son. I started by saying I didn’t know too much about them, but he kept asking questions till he got fed up with my answers and yelled “you don’t know what you’re talking about!”
