i remember getting my first pair of glasses around 12 and being awestruck at looking at grass and trees. i could see individual blades of grass and leaves on trees for the first time and wondered what else had i been missing out on.
I was a freshman in high school and the teachers started using projectors. Couldn’t see anything. Guess I was 14 or 15. My family took me to the vision center in our local Wal-Mart. The first thing I did was look across the store announce the price on some sign at the very back. That’s when Mom realized that she should feel bad for yelling at me that I missed dirt after sweeping the kitchen floor. Her first mission after I got my glasses was to have me sweep the floor again and see the bits I’d been missing.
Taking into account that you were a teenager, you probably looked like a dork anyway but you were in denial. The glasses probably just focused the dorkness.

*Feels the pain of dorkdom* However-I take them off, people are shocked! Holy cow, that girl who usually wears geeky black rimmed classes is CUTE!?
So. It’s kind of amusing…despite the whole ‘Going to dances blind’ thing. xD

So do I with my glasses.
