According to Wikipedia, the word “Rishi” denotes a singer of sacred hymns, an inspired poet or sage, or any person who alone or with others invokes the deities in rhythmical speech or song of a sacred character.

Did you know that South Indians celebrate the same a day earlier and in the morning as compared to the North?
And that too they light up fireworks at the break of dawn instead of in the evening as is done in the north!
Apparently it has to do with the belief that Lord Rama reached the shores of India from Lanka in the morning and arrived at Ayodhya way north only in the evening the next day!
Strange, huh! Ask your dad about it! If he’s anything like my dad, he would give a discourse on the all the events!
